According to sources confirmed by the mattress club's board, Atlético de Madrid already has the approval of Inbursa, the bank owned by Slim and also participated by La Caixa, to sign the granting of a loan of 200 million euros. This new line of financing, which has been negotiated for five months, replaces the previous one granted by the same Mexican banking group, but to date amounted to 163 million and matured in 2021.

Now, the parties have agreed to extend the credit by 40 million and extend the amortization in 10 years, at a rate of 20 million per season, according to the same sources. These additional liquidity needs are due to the efforts made by the sports management to retain its main figures, especially Griezmann, its franchise player, and to incorporate players like Rodri, Gelson Martins, Thomas Lemar, Kalinic, Adam, Jonny and Arias.

With this new loan, Atlético de Madrid's debt will surpass 600 million euros, a figure that the red-and-white institution wants to reduce this autumn with the sale of the lands of the former Vicente Calderón. The Operation Mahou-Vicente Calderón, as it is called, has suffered several stoppages, since the club dismissed low offers received last season. According to the same sources, Club Atlético de Madrid Sociedad Anónima Deportiva closed the 2017-2018 campaign with a profit of four million euros and an approximate turnover of 400 million.
